This is a list of books I’ve read, those I’ve purchased and am waiting to read, and those I’ve abandoned part way through. This list is relatively new—I started keeping track in the middle of 2024.

My abandoned list is relatively large. I give myself permission to bail out of books that I find myself flogging through for one reason or another. This doesn’t mean they’re bad books. In many cases my interests just change before I can finish. In some cases it’s my second time reading since starting this list. I’ve also been forced to add books to the list when they were removed from the subscription service I was using to read them. Don’t read too much into it.

In 2024 I learned that reading multiple books at the same time is a really bad idea for me. For the foreseeable future I plan to focus on a single book at a time. In March 2025 I found myself in this situation again because I was reading a book, listening to one recommended at work, and listening to one with my wife. It played out and worked okay, but I still want to avoid doing this as much as I can help it.
