This blog is a journey, not a lecture. These are the principles I want to write by.
See Ways to Be a Stunning Creator too, there’s some overlap.
Share “how I” stories, not “how to” instructions. I’m documenting what I do, not prescribing what others should do.
Involve my audience. Make them feel like part of the journey, not just spectators.
Always include a byline. Since I write in plain text instead of using a traditional blogging system with timestamps, I add a byline to preserve authorship and date directly in the original file. I start every post with “By Joel Dare - Updated [date] - Written [date]”
Show my personality. Write like a human, not like a textbook.
Simplify to 3-steps. There is evidence that sets of three work unusually well for understanding, memory, and persuasion.
